'Left untouched'
We stood close, just two people kissing.
Just like the act of becoming more than friends.
So brave that I took the challenge.
We stood centred in the crowd.
It felt like a significant moment.
Talking for a while our words started to influence the atmosphere.
Watching our actions as we both entered into a game of victimizing.
While caught in a spin of what love got to do with it.
I had you fall for me as if you had wanted me to do so.
You thought you had the advantage to take the opportunity.
With all the misdirection that had you believe led you to the end.
Troubled are your eyes with feelings to show.
Falling in and out of love feels a lot like learning when to let go.
I dare to love you that much.
My innocence was left untouched.
The young and in love..
Being young and trying to understand love is hard for a teenage girl. This poem expresses the misconception of love. And how difficult it is for a teenager to show love but be loved when everything seems hard to understand. Trusting yourself and your heart. Learning what love is and what it is not.
