'Detention'
On the board she wrote new work.
Foolish children laugh and joke.
As she turned her face around,
Children quiet she heard no sound.
As she turned back to face the board once more,
What was deep down, is now ashore.
Greatest plan of thought, could I.
Word went around in whispers of a spy.
Fire! What appeared in a blast?
Trash of paper thrown by the class.
Face to face she turned to mine.
Silent laughter played in a mime.
She came closer and spoke tone down.
Just enough to make me frown.
She had the last laugh and harsh words to mention.
So, here I am stuck in detention!
